F*cking people [Nov. 4th, 2005|07:53 pm]
[mood |aggravatedaggravated]
[music |The Planet Smashers - Surfin in Tofino]

People suck.

I went to a used record store with my older brother steve so i could buy him stuff for his birthday, i found a CD he would like and gave it to him to hold. Now if you know steve you know he is vulnerable to getting in trouble, all kids like him are. So, steve took the CD and innocently put it in his pocket.

I got SO MUCH SHIT for that it was ridiculous. Scowls. Warnings. A poor attitude all around. They thought steve was trying to steal it. A USED CD.

He doesn't know that it would be suspicious. He cant even spell suspicious. And these kids working at the USED record shop gimme shit.

Fucking people

Work [Nov. 3rd, 2005|08:05 pm]
[mood |gratefulgrateful]
[music |Cream - Tales of Brave Ulysses]

It was during a very saddening time that i ironically reconfirmed in my head that this is the job for me. I like the ups and downs, the pros and cons. I like knowing that what i do has some sort of affect on people. You can really get a sense of that at your job when things dont work out. When the worst possible outcome happens, the one thing you try and prevent, you realize how the fight is worth it.

The code was called, the history looked up, the storm clouds were disregarded, and when the dust settles. We just shrug it off and go about what we do best. Trying to prevent what just happened.

I can do that

A Return To Normalcy [Oct. 31st, 2005|10:40 pm]
[mood |uncomfortableuncomfortable]
[music |Silence]

Remind me to never go to a sporting event with a lot of pent up anger inside.

I seem to relate the success of my sports team to the success of my life thus far. I haven't have had the best couple of weeks, some of you know why, some of you dont, regardless judging by my demeanor the past week you never would have known. I guess i've gotten good at hiding this kind of shit. But when i walked out of MSG tonight after a Rangers loss it all came down... I was depressed. Samething happened last year after that heartbreaking NU loss to BU in the Beanpot. I just hated life on that train ride home. When will i get that win.

Another thing i noticed on that ride home was how unusual my reaction to a win is. Well with sports at least. Most would find a win as something unique something to be happy about, something to celebrate. Yet in my head, it just feels.... normal. It feels like this is what life, the times, the day should feel like i just feel very satisfied that i can go about my business about things. I dont know what thats about.

A movie i might just go see [Jul. 21st, 2005|08:42 pm]
[mood |anxiousanxious]
[music |The Clash "Police and Thieves"]

I hardly ever go to movies anymore... but i just might go to this one...

Its called the Aristocrats... and the plot is simply this...

100 of todays best comics tell their rendition of the same disgustingly filthy joke; apparently its a joke told in the comedian underground since the vaudeville days (era around the turn of the century, Vaudeville shows were kind of like variety shows; just FYI for you under-eduamacated folks)... and we're talking the best of the best are in this

George Carlin, Don Rickles, Lewis Black, Eddie Izzard, Bill Maher, Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart, The Smothers Brothers, Rip Taylor, Eric Idle and others...

So weird i just might go see it

Yep... im on Long Island [Jul. 13th, 2005|09:35 pm]
[mood |exhaustedexhausted]
[music |Jimmy Eat World "Hear You Me"]

One good thing with being home... I got to visit ANCHOR. I dont need to rant and rave on how good it was to see everybody, you all know how much i miss that place. If you dont just ask me again... ill explain.

The bad thing... NO ONE WILL GO WITH ME TO CONCERTS. OAR is on Friday and as of right now i go by my lonesome... again. In mass i get yelled at for not inviting people, on LI inviting people wont do shit.

So thank you and Screw You Long Island.

Dan / Curly (depending on the state)

[music |The sweet sound of the Yankees Losing]

You know whats marvelous. Not knowing what day it is. It definitely was news when my mother told me it was indeed thursday, this happened like 10 minutes ago and its 10:04 now. Good times.

There's nothing like coming home after a semester like that to a complete day of playing video games and watching baseball on TV with my Grandpa and my Dog. Not a worry in the world. Damn its good to be home.

Not This year [May. 22nd, 2005|05:47 pm]
[mood |satisfiedsatisfied]
[music |Year Zero - The Creel Commision]

So there was this online Poker tournament exclusively for college students. I figured like 30,000 kids at least signed up for it. Over the past 6 months were a series of tournaments every sunday and if you got finished in the top percentage you went on to the next tourney and if you finished high enough you got to the next and so on. The last man standing won $41,000 Scholarship. I didn't win a penny... oh well. But cool thing is... out of the entire 30,000 + people in this thing i finished in 112th place.

Not bad Eh?

[music |Gorillaz "Clint East Wood]

Taken from my Myspace thingy two days ago:

Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Who... a list that goes on and exemplifies the greatest of all time.

In my opinion add one more to the list.

You know when you go to a show and the band just finished up a song and you think to yourself "That was the song of the night right there"? It was like that for 2 hours and 15 minutes straight. It just got better and better. Maybe the best show i've ever seen.

I wanted to see Omar and Cedric since their days in At The Drive-In. Last night they went above and beyond what i had heard and expected. I mean... it was...
